ABMB is one of the leading innovators in Traffic, Transportation & Infrastructure Design. The firm started in this service area over 25 years ago, and it has been where ABMB has excelled ever since. The firm has had the privilege of studying and designing some of the marquis infrastructure endeavors in the Gulf South - including two of the first LADOTD Design-Build projects (one along US 90 at LA 85, and a second on I-12), a unique $48 million-dollar interchange and frontage road system at I-10 and Picardy Avenue in Baton Rouge, and a multi-level, multi-directional interchange including 20 different bridge structures at the interchange of I-10 and Canal Road near the Port of Gulfport in Mississippi.
ABMB’s expansive infrastructure design background demonstrates our commitment to evaluating all possibilities and materials to find not simply a solution, but a solution that provides the client with great value and sustainability in the future. Close partnerships with our clients help them to understand current and future needs, allowing them to reach for the highest level of creativity in order to bring breakthrough innovations to their project.
In addition, ABMB has developed a reputation for having one of the most experienced and innovative traffic analysis and design teams in the Gulf South, responsible for designing and implementing one of the first Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI) in the country. That same team also designed and installed Louisiana’s first Ramp Metering system, now active along the I-12 Corridor.
The firm’s master-degreed structural engineers have designed bridges with concrete slab spans, prestressed concrete girders, curved steel plate girders, steel box girders and more. Materials have ranged from steel and wood, to reinforced and post-tension concrete.
The firm was also the first to utilize Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) walls of over 25 feet along a roadway―meeting repeatedly with the manufacturer to have complete assurance in its safety and security all the while continuously refining its design and technical expertise in challenging engineering projects. The MSE walls were implemented at a fraction of the cost of traditional systems.
ABMB has continued to be the leading innovators in our field, having crafted one of the most experienced traffic, transportation and infrastructure analysis and design teams in the Greater Gulf South.
From the initial traffic modeling and evaluation to construction oversight of the implemented solution, the firm has the unique ability to address transportation and infrastructure issues on a full service scale and to find solutions that others may not.
