Highway and roadway design is at the heart of what ABMB
does. Although it’s where we started as a firm
twenty years ago, it’s not something we take for granted. Designing
good highways and roads these days is a lot harder than it
was two decades ago, and the number of techniques and materials
has grown exponentially. You can’t build a road
in 2005 with 1985 assumptions and methods.
In fact, that’s why we’re still highway and
roadway experts after all these years. The field is
constantly changing, and we’ve taken the opportunity
to change with it, finding new, more cost-effective ways
to design roads and highways for municipalities, state highways
departments, and commercial developers. Our goal is
to find the most appropriate and most cost-effective approach
for any given project and to present our ideas clearly so
that our clients can evaluate their merits.
And, of course, ABMB’s expertise in traffic control,
drainage, intersection design, and bridge crossing intersects
and enriches our approach to highway design. We know
how our efforts affect other elements of the design and construction
process, so we provide a design that works with, rather than
against, other elements of the project.
